For those of you who run long distances, or run hard, you know that's it's not unusual to be stiff and sore for a day or so afterward. Well, my soreness and stiffness from the Savage Seven lasted until the end of February. It probably didn't help that I did a double the next weekend, and then ran a marathon for the two weekends after that. So I guess I didn't allow enough time for a full recovery until I finally took a few weekends off.
In the last couple of weeks, I finally feel back to normal. I did do the Boy's Ranch Marathon on March 11, and recovered from that easily. I now have two weekends off before going to Jackson, TN for the Andrew Jackson Marathon.
The best quote I've seen lately is, "The day will come when I can no longer do this. Today is not that day." At my age, I appreciate every run more than the last. Think I'll make a shirt with that quote.
Stay well, folks.
